Sound art in public spaces was the central theme of artistic practice and research for »bonn hoeren« and »soundforum bonn«. Initiated by the Beethoven Foundation for Art and Culture of the Federal City of Bonn, this internationally unique project has been continuously investigating the acoustic conditions and sound contexts of the city of Bonn since 2010. To this end, Bonn City Sound Artists were appointed each year to realize a new sound installation in the city at the end of their project residencies.

To mark the conclusion of “soundforum — bonn hoeren,” the exhibition presents these final projects by the eighteen city sound artists from 2010 to 2025 in the city of Bonn in documentary form with images, texts, and video films.

Bonn City Sound Artists:
Sam Auinger (AT/DE), Erwin Stache (DE), Andreas Oldörp (DE), Christina Kubisch (DE), Stefan Rummel (DE), Max Eastley (GB), Edwin van der Heide (NL), Gordon Monahan (CA), Maia Urstad (NO), Akio Suzuki (JP), Bill Fontana (US), Robin Minard (CA/DE), Roswitha von den Driesch & Jens-Uwe Dyffort (DE), Miki Yui & Stefan Schneider (JP/DE), Raul Keller (EE), Nika Schmitt (LU).
